The Last Day hits the charts!

I don’t even know where to start with this blog post. The past week has been incredible. Incredible in an exciting over-the-moon type way and also in a crippling nervous way.

The Last Day free offer went really well and extended to five days in the end. During that time it was downloaded over 15,500 times! Completely staggering. This sent it to the top of the free chart on Amazon.

Top 100 free books

And now it’s currently bouncing between 190 and 120 in the top paid books on Kindle store. It’s in the Top 10 Paid for Psychological Crime & Thrillers and Psychological Fiction. My dream is for it to hit the Top 100 Paid chart.

I put this down to weeks of intense work on re-editing, marketing, category research and making tough decisions such as the cover change and giving the book Amazon exclusivity. I revisited everything I possibly could about the book. And sacrificed a load of time I could have spent writing book three.

And it paid off!

What I really hope for now is some longevity in this run, but I’ll just have to wait and see. I’ve done some jumping up and down in excitement on social media but I’m probably near the stage of boring the pants off people about it.

So it’s in the hands of the readers now. Which is probably the way it should be isn’t it?

Update at 1pm: here’s the Psychological Thrillers chart at the moment! I will stop taking screen shots eventually. I promise.

Don’t stop taking screenshots, you deserve to enjoy every moment! Milk it for all it’s worth-all that hard work you’ve put in, and that doesn’t include the actual writing bit, fully deserve to be recognised. I’m so pleased for you 🙂

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant news and SO well deserved! Really glad your hard work with the marketing (not to mention the writing) has paid off. Considering how huge this achievement is I think you have been quite restrained on social media! How exciting for you! xxx
